What is druzy you ask? We said the same thing the first time we saw it and proceeded to fall in love with it as we learned so much more about it. It is beautiful and unique and no two are ever alike. The dynamics of the earth’s crust and inner layers are responsible for the forming of most of the colored gemstones we see today. Many millions of years ago as the molten rock were being forced up to the surface, heat and pressure changes gasses to expand and create within the solidifying rock. Many years later, as the ground water, that was rich with minerals, moved through the rock, it deposited the new minerals into cavities, and as cooling began to occur, the crystallization of these minerals on top of inside the previously crystallized rock began the unique crystal formation called druzy.
